He was born Oct. 21, 1924 in Tyrone, a son of the late Joseph and Mary (Vasilian) Stack. He married Margaret Lane on Oct. 10, 1961. She preceded in him death June 22, 1983. Survivors are a stepdaughter, Carole Burnett and husband, Russ and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Also, two sisters, Katherine Price of Roaring Spring and Helen Allen of Bald Eagle, along with several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters. Brother Mike also died on Oct. 28, 2003 at 4 a.m. Mr. Stack joined the Marine Corp. following high school and served for 27 years with duties in World War II and Korean War. After retiring from service, he worked for the U.S. Postal Service retiring in 1983. He was a member of the VFW, American Legion and Fleet Reserve Association in West. Services were held with full military honor at 2 p.m. on Nov. 1, 2003 at Waco Memorial Mausoleum Chapel with Rev. Msg. Mark Deering officiating. Burial was at Waco Memorial North Cemetery.
