At twenty minutes of 10 o'clock Sunday evening, Mrs. Mary Stackhouse, died at her home No. 1121 Sixth avenue. The deceased who was familiarly known as Mother Stackhouse was long a resident of Altoona and respected by all who knew her. Her death was the result of nervous prostration superintended by heat exhaustion, she having been overcome by the hot rays of the sun on Friday last. Had she lived until the 10th day of next November, she would have been 77 years of age. Her husband died in this city fifteen years ago last January. The names of the surviving children are: William Stackhouse, of Gretna, Louisiana; and Daniel, Harry and Thomas Stackhouse, of this city. The deceased was a member of the United Brethren church.
