Stahl, 73, Former Local Resident, Dies William H. Stahl, aged 73, former general secretary of the Juniata Y.M.C.A. and more recently employe of the state internal affairs department statistics bureau, died of a heart attack in his sleep last night in his rooming house in Harrisburg. Mr. Stahl had been located in Harrisburg since 1941 as a state employe. He returned to Altoona June 1, 1928, as community secretary of the Altoona Y.M.C.A., from Towanda where he was associated with the Chamber of Commerce. He had earlier served the Juniata Y.M.C.A. Subsequently he accepted a position as contact man for the Penn Central Light & Power company, in December, 1928, serving a number of the associated companies in the local area. In October, 1932.I he was appointed to the emergency relief bureau in the city, continuing until his appointment to the state position. His wife, Mrs. Elizabeth May (Boyles) Stahl, died Oct. 4, 1945, at the family home, 611 Eighth avenue, Juniata. There are no children. Mr. Stahl while in Altoona was a member of the First Presbyterian. Altoona Mirror, Monday, August 9, 1948, pages 1, 21 STAHL - Funeral services for William H. Stahl of Harrisburg will be held at the Mauk & Yates funeral home Thursday afternoon at 3.30 o'clock in charge of Rev. Alfred Petersen. Interment in Grandview cemetery.
