Mrs. Caroline Stains died at the residence of her son, Mr. George W. Reid, of 317 Front street, yesterday morning at 2:15 o'clock. Mrs. Stains was born at Paradise, Huntingdon county, on October 15, 1832, and would have reached her 86th birthday had she lived until October 15. She is survived by one son and five daughters, as follows: George W. Reid, of this place, at whose home she died; Mrs. Sarah Campbell, of Bellwood; Mrs. Kate McMonigal, of Irvona; Mrs. James Lang, of Dixonville; Mrs. Edward Peters, of Bellefonte, and Mrs. Margaret Hook, of Pittsburg. Deceased was a consistent Christian woman of many virtues and was a member of the Christian Alliance church for many years. She was a good citizen and neighbor and a devoted wife and mother. The funeral services will be held at the home of her son, 317 Front street, on Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Interment will be made at Bellwood the same day.
