On Saturday evening, at twenty minutes after 7 o'clock, Mrs. S. Maggie Steckman, wife of Frederick Steckman, died at the residence of her brother-in-law, Henry Hawk, where Mr. Steckman and family boarded. After a severe illness of ten months her disease culminated in prostration of the heart. She was born in Cumberland county, coming with her parents to Blair county in 1847. She was aged 50 years, 8 months and 15 days. Surviving her death are her husband, Frederick Steckman, and son, Henry M. Steckman, and families of her sister, the late Lizzie C. Hawk, and her brother, the late John S. Calvert, and W. H. and D. E. Calvert, of Logan township; Joseph L. and S. M. Calvert, of Altoona; S. P. Calvert, of Colorado, and nephew, Will K. Calvert, of Logan township. She was a consistent and active member of the Fourth Lutheran church. He funeral will be conducted by her pastor, the Rev. D. R. P. Barry, at the residence of H. Hawk, No. 1541 Ninth street, at 10 o'clock Tuesday morning. Interment in Fairview cemetery. Morning Tribune, Altoona, Pa., Monday, December 8, 1890
