AMBROSE L. STEELE

Of 5717 California avenue, died at 2.10 o'clock yesterday afternoon at Mercy 
hospital following a brief illness. Mr. Steele was born Feb. 28, 1879, at 
Hopewell, R. D., a son of Isaac and Margaret (McDowell) Steele. Surviving are 
his wife, the former Ella Bowser, whom he married in 1898; four children, Mrs. 
Edith Hoover and Mrs. Margaret Hoover of Martinsburg, Robert of Altoona and 
Glenn W. of Lorain, O.; 12 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and one 
brother, Rufus of Chicago, Ill. A retired P.R.R. mechanic, Mr. Steele was a 
member of the Mt. Pleasant Reformed church, Millerstown. Friends will be 
received at the Miller funeral home, Martinsburg. after 7 o'clock this evening.
