EDWARD W. STEELE
April 1, 1944

Of Antis, died Saturday becoming ill last Wednesday.  He was born May 5, 1869 
in Bedford, the son of Isaac and Rebecca (Davis) Steele.  His wife Bertha (Cox) 
Steele, died in 1935.  Surviving are one daughter, and one sun, Miss Alice, at 
home;  Asbury Steele, Riggles gap;  two grandchildren, Robert and Bernes 
Steele, Riggles gap;  and the following brother;  Theodore, Yellow Creek;  
Luther, W., Martinsburg;  Harry, New Enterprise;  Rufus, Chicago;  and Ambrose, 
Eldorado.  He was a retired watchman for the PRR, retiring in 1937.  He was a 
member of the Altoona lodge, No. 821, and the Brotherhood of Railway and 
Steamship clerks.  Friends are being received at the home.  
Interment in the Antis cemetery.
