Stewart, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Carl D. Root, Birmingham, Saturday morning following a brief illness. Mrs. Stewart was born May 6, 1862, at Hollidaysburg. the daughter of Adam and Mary Himes. On November 22, 1883, at Tyrone, she was married to Samuel E. Stewart who died in 1930. Mrs. Stewart had been a resident of Birmingham since her marriage. She is survived by a half-brother, George Himes, Altoona, and these sons and daughters: A. J. Stewart and Mrs. Carl D. Root, Birmingham; Harry C. Stewart, Murrysville; Mrs. Harry Keith and Mrs. Clara Martin, Altoona, and Mrs. Edward Stover, York. She is also survived by two sisters: Mrs. George Gay and Mrs. James Fields, Altoona; 43 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren. She was a member of the Birmingham Presbyterian church. Friends are being received at the Carl D. Root home, Birmingham, where funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock in charge of the Rev. Eugene McCahan, of Port Royal.
