From the Harrisburg Telegraph, October 17: After an illness of three weeks, the result of a severe attack of la grippe, George W. Stewart, an aged citizen, passed away this morning at his home, 1012 North Third street. He was in his 80th year of his age and came to this city from Altoona in 1872, having retired from business. He leaves a wife and eight children, George M. and Ira F., who live in Altoona; H. C. Stewart, of this city; Mary E., who is a teacher in the Edison Orphanage at Lowell, Mass.; Phoebe H., Juniata, Emma and Etta, all of whom reside in Harrisburg. The funeral service will take place at the residence on Monday morning, after which the remains will be removed to Lewistown for interment. Morning Tribune, Saturday, October 18, 1890
