STIFFLER Aged 80 and a native of Poplar run, Blair county, died at 8 o'clock last evening at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Charles Lawn of 700 Chestnut street, Gallitzin, where he had resided since the death of his wife, Mary (Lamar) Stiffler, four years ago. He was born Sept. 5, 1872, a son of Abraham and Rachel (Reffner) Stiffler. Surviving are the daughter, Mrs. Lawn, and two sisters, Mrs. Minnie Piper of Duncansville and Mrs. Jean Coy of near VanOrmer. He was married April 7, 1903, in the First Methodist church, Altoona, and resided for 30 years in Cresson, retiring as a carpenter from the railroad company service in 1939 after 34 years of employment. Mr. Stiffler was a member of the Gallitzin Methodist church and of the P.R.R. Veterans organization. Friends will be received after 8 o'clock this evening at the Conrad funeral home.
