MRS. ELIZABETH E. STIFFLER

Former resident of Altoona, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. A. 
J. Malone, at Canoe Creek, Hollidaysburg, R.D. 2, at 11.30 o'clock last 
night. She was born at Arch Springs Nov. 28, 1857, a daughter of Simon 
and Mary (Barnacle) Baird. She was married Jan. 29, 1878 to Joseph 
Stiffler of Newry, who preceded her in death. Surviving are these 
children:  Mrs. Malone, Mrs. Clarissa M. Westover of Bellville, N.J., 
and Merle C. Stiffler of Canoe Creek; one sister, Mrs. Mary Kuhn of 
Duncansville; 12 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and seven great-
great-grandchildren. Mrs. Stiffler was a member of the Duncansville 
Lutheran church. Friends will be received at the home of her daughter, 
Mrs. Malone, at Canoe Creek after 7 o'clock this evening.
