Stiffler, died at the family home at Canoe Creek Friday evening at 7.30 o'clock, death being attributed to a complication of diseases from which she had been a sufferer for a number of years, although only being critically ill during the past few weeks. She was born on Aug. 17, 1868, the daughter of David S. and Mrs. Catherine Burger, both now deceased. She was united in marriage with Mr. Stiffler on March 15, 1888, by Rev. Uriah Connelly and they resided at Canoe Creek ever since. She is survived by her husband and these children: Ira Stiffler of Ganister and Mrs. Mary Smith of this city, and Lewis, at home, and four grandchildren, and these sisters and brother: Mrs. Elizabeth Koofer of South Altoona, Mrs. Margaret Harpster of Canoe Creek, Mrs. Della Robinson, Mrs. Mae Plowman and Mrs. Linda Turner, all residing in West Virginia, and Lewis Burger of Durand, Ill. She was a lifelong member of the Canoe Creek United Brethren church and active in the work of the church and Sunday School. Funeral services will be conducted in the Canoe Creek United Brethren church Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock, in charge of her pastor, Rev. H. B. Speece, assisted by Rev. A. C. Van Saun.
