J. K. STIFFLER

  J. K. Stiffler, a former resident of Altoona but of late years a 
citizen of Terra Haute, Ind., died on the train near Jacksonville, 
Fla., on Friday, December 29.  The cause of death was apoplexy.  He was 
about 60 years of age and is survived by his wife and four children, 
John, Thomas, Lillian and Bertha.  The sons reside near Terra Haute and 
the daughters at the parental home.  Mr. Stiffler had quite a number of 
friends and relatives in Altoona and vicinity and they will be grieved 
to hear of his sudden death.  The funeral will be held today from his 
late residence in Terra Haute.
