STIFFLER Of 622 Bell avenue, died at the family home at 4.42 o'clock this morning of a complication of diseases, aged 59. He was ill for the past six years when he suffered an attack of sleeping sickness. He was bedfast for the past three years. He was born at Poplar Run, this county, Aug. 14, 1867, the son of Abram and Rachael Stiffler, deceased, and he was a resident of this city for forty years. He was married Dec. 23, 1897, to Miss Laura Gertrude Nycum. He was employed as a car builder for the Pennsy. Surviving are the widow Mrs. Laura Stiffler, two sons, Ralph L., and Clarence E., both at home, and a brother, Aden Stiffler of Gallitzin, and two sisters, Mrs. Jane Coy, of VanOrmer and Mrs. Minnie Piper of Duncansville. He was a member of the Second United Brethren church, being active in the work of the church, and Sunday school. The funeral will be held from the S. P. Rickey funeral home, 911 Lexington avenue, Friday morning leaving the home at 10 o'clock with services at 10.30 o'clock in the Second United Brethren church. Interment will follow in Greenwood cemetery. The remains can be viewed at the Hickey funeral home at any time. Altoona Mirror, Wednesday, August 4, 1926
