Stiffler, 94, a guest of Garvey Manor, Hollidaysburg, formerly of 411 Walnut St., Hollidaysburg, died at 9:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 14, 1988, at the manor, following an extended illness. Mr. Stiffler retired as Blair County highway superintendent in 1965, after 47 years' service. He was born Aug. 25, 1894, in Lilly, the son of Levi and Linnie M. (Keckler) Stiffler, and June 15, 1918, in Butler, married Verna E. Reid, who died Sept. 26, 1983. Surviving are four children: Earl L. of Miami, Fla.; Gretna M. Freidenbloom of West Loop, Ruth E. Osgood of Olean, N.Y., and F. Joyce Emerich of Lancaster; 18 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. A son, Ernest of Fairfax, Va., died Oct. 13, 1988. Also surviving are two brothers: Oakley Sr. of Duncansville RD and Julius M. of Hyattsville, Md. Mr. Stiffler attended the First Baptist Church, Hollidaysburg. He was also a member of the Hollidaysburg Borough Council for 22 years and council president for 14 years. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Plank & Stitt Funeral Home, Hollidaysburg. STIFFLER - Services for Logan E. Stiffler of Garvey Manor, Hollidaysburg, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Plank & Stitt Funeral Home Inc., Hollidaysburg, by the Rev. Lewis E. White. Interment at Carson Valley Cemetery.
