STIFFLER Of Canoe Creek, died at his home at 9.20 o'clock yesterday morning. Mr. Stiffler was born in Allegheny Forge, Sept. 22, 1889, a son of Joseph H. and Elizabeth (Beard) Stiffler. He was retired from the Pennsylvania Railroad in 1937, on disability. He married Mary I. Douglas of Canoe Creek July 16, 1907. Surviving are his wife, two sisters, Mrs. A. J. Malone of Canoe Creek and Mrs. Clarissa Westover of Belleville, N.J.; five nephews and seven nieces. One daughter preceded him in death. He was a member of the Canoe Creek Methodist church, Blair County Game, Fish, and Forestry association and the Frankstown Township Sportsmen's association. Mr. Stiffler was a veteran of World war I, having served in the 8th field artillery of the 7th division and was overseas from Feb. 1, 1918, until July 19, 1919.
