He was born in Blair county on August 3, 1845. He is survived by four sons and four daughters, Mrs. May Steward, Mrs. Nettie Weigard, Mrs. Irene Curry, Lewis L., Davis S., Regis C. and Chester, all of Salem, O., and Mrs. Ida Carnes, of Conemaugh. The remains may be viewed at the home of his brother, Levi Stiffler. Services will be conducted at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon in the Lutheran church at Newry. Interment in the Lutheran cemetery.
