Died of a complication of diseases at the home of James M. Gilland, 1709 Eighth avenue. The deceased came to Mr. Gilland's home some time last fall. She was very ill and was supposed to be in destitute circumstances. As she was a member of the Second Presbyterian church its members ministered to her. After she was dead it was found that she had about $1,400 deposted in the Williamsburg and Hollidaysburg banks, the certificates being found among her papers in her room. Some years ago she made a will while living in William[s]burg, but this document has not been found. She was aged about 70 years, and is survived by two sisters and one brother. The deceased was an invalid for several years, suffering from cancer in the left breast, which was the main cause of her death. She was patient throughout her long illness and rested on the promises of her Lord. The funeral will take place at 2:30 today, services being held at the deceased's late residence, 1709 Eighth avenue, by Rev. H. H. Stiles, pastor of the Second Presbyterian church; interment in Fairview cemetery. Altoona Mirror, February 4, 1895
