WM. T. STITELER,

A brother of Mrs. Susan Vipond of Young's Crossing, on the Logan Valley 
road, died Thursday, December 23, in the military hospital at Fort 
Leavenworth of blood poisoning.  He was born in Blair county on January 
4, 1837, and early in life joined the regular army and served in the 
west and southwest.  He also served in the civil war in Co. A, 77th 
Illinois, and participated in sixteen battles.  He was twice married, 
his second wife and four children surviving.
