JOHN STOKES

  John Stokes, colored, aged 40, who resided at the Merchants' hotel on 
Tenth avenue, died at Altoona hospital last evening at 5:45 o'clock of 
uremia.  He was admitted several weeks ago.  He was a Pennsy laborer.  
His wife resides in Houston, Texas, and word is being awaited from her, 
pending disposition of the body.
