Stonerook, 92, Box 120, Martinsburg RR 1, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday morning, June 1, 2004, at his residence after an apparent heart attack. He was born Jan. 26, 1912, in North Woodbury Township, son of the late George F. and Missouri (Kauffman) Stonerook. He married E. Francelia Reffner Aug. 8, 1934, in Hagerstown, Md. She died Feb. 12, 2003. Mr. Stonerook was a lifelong and the oldest member of Martinsburg Church of God, where he was a former Sunday school teacher and superintendent and member of the church council. He also traveled to Haiti with the church missions team to assist them in various building projects. He retired as a lifelong dairy farmer and enjoyed hunting, woodworking, gardening and four-wheeling. Mr. Stonerook had attended the Curryville two-room schoolhouse. He was a member of the Martinsburg Booster Association and Martinsburg Sportsmen's Association. He was a former member of the Martinsburg Rotary Club and former director of the board of directors of the Spring Cove School District, Morrisons Cove Memorial Park and Morrisons Cove Dairy Show. Surviving are six daughters: Doris A. Wagner (husband, Robert), Sandra K. Oakes (husband, Ronald) and Joan L. Mock (husband, Stephen), all of Martinsburg RR 1, Darlene J. Lang (husband, Paul) of rural Roaring Spring, Yvonne M. Rhodes of Martinsburg and Carol S. Myers (husband, Gary) of San Diego; a son, Wayne P. of Martinsburg RR 1; 23 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great- grandchildren.
