STUDY Well known Tyrone citizen, died at 12:52 o'clock last night at the Altoona hospital. He was admitted to the institution on April 17. He was aged 70 years. The remains were taken in charge by Funeral Directory Graham of Tyrone. Tyrone Daily Herald, Tyrone, Pa., April 24, 1923 JAMES AUGUSTUS STUDY, Brief mention of whose death yesterday morning at the Altoona hospital was made yesterday, was on of the borough's best known citizens. He had been in failing health for several years and last week submitted to an operation. He was born Feb. 2, 1853, at Fairview, York county. He came to Tyrone when but 2 years of age and had resided here since. In August 1876, he was united in marriage with Miss Annie V. Lever, who, with one daughter, Mrs. C. A. Steel, of Tyrone and one son, Edwin L. Study, of Sylvan Hills, Hollidaysburg, survive. He is also survived by these sisters and brother: Mrs. Emma Africa, Warren, Mrs. H. T. Cornman, Altoona, Mrs. P. A. Reed of Germantown and W. L. Study of Altoona. Mr. Study was a sincere Christian man and a member of the First Methodist church of Tyrone. He had always been an active business man in Tyrone, of late years having directed his attention to the insurance business. Funeral services will be held from the home of C. A. Steel, 1048 Logan avenue, Thursday afternoon at 2:30, conducted by Rev. A. S. Fasick, D. D. Interment will be private and will be made in Grandview cemetery.
