ELLEN STULTZ, A former resident of Blair county who died at Los Angeles, Calif., Saturday afternoon, was born near Newry on Nov. 14, 1851. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Shaw. She went to California five years ago. She was a consistent member of the Lutheran church. Her husband preceded her to the grave twenty-nine years ago. She is survived by seven children, as follows: Mrs. Laura Brua, Mrs. Anna Manlove of Los Angeles, Cal.; Walter D. Stultz of Hollidaysburg; Gilbert and Oliver of Altoona; Melvin and Mrs. Martha Opp of Los Angeles; also by two sisters and three brothers - O. W. Shaw of Hollidaysburg, P. A. Shaw, of Altoona, Samuel of Newry; Mrs. Jennie Grounder and Mrs. Martha Wilson of California, and five grandchildren. The remains will be brought home and will arrive here at 11.45 Friday morning and will be taken to the home of her son Gilbert, 2008 Fourth avenue, Altoona. On Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock the cortege will leave the house and proceed by automobile to the Lutheran church at Newry, where the funeral services will be held. Interment will be made in the cemetery there. Altoona Mirror, Tuesday, 1 January 1924 Funeral Notice. The remains of Mrs. Ellen E. Stultz, a former resident of Blair county who died in Los Angeles, arrived from the California city in Altoona at 7.15 o'clock this morning. They were accompanied by Mrs. R. A. Brua, a daughter, and were taken to the home of a son of 2008 Fourth avenue. The body may be viewed there up until the time of the funeral which will be held tomorrow afternoon at the Lutheran church in Newry, the cortege leaving the house at 2 o'clock. Interment will be made in the cemetery at Newry.
