Sutch 63, an outstanding basketball and tennis player as a young man in Altoona, died at 6:15 p.m. yesterday in Montefiore Hospital, Pittsburgh, after a lengthy illness. He resided at 912 Ross St., in Springdale, Pa. Born in Altoona Nov. 28, 1901, he was a son of William P. and Rose (Kearney) Sutch, and married Edythe G. Robison of the city. A graduate of Altoona High School in 1919, he had been a member of outstanding basketball teams while a student known then as Red. Surviving are his wife, two children, Mrs. Franklin Henry of New Hartford, N.Y., and William B. of Liverpool, N.Y.; five grandchildren, his mother, of this city and a sister, Miss Ruth of Johnstown. He was a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church and had been employed for the past 37 years as a machinist for West Penn Power Company. Friends are being received in the Clowes Funeral Home, Springdale.
