Duncansville Woman Dies

  Mrs. Christine F. Swartz of 1138 Third avenue, Duncansville, died this morning 
at 12.10 o'clock at her home after a lengthy illness.
  Born in Brockport, Elk county, June 25, 1874, she was a daughter of Frederick 
and Ursula (Bauer) Steurer.  She was married July 2, 1895, at McKeesport to 
Howard B. Swartz by Rev. J. E. Law.  The couple observed their 50th wedding 
anniversary at their home July 2, 1945.
  Surviving are her husband, one daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Degenhart, and a 
grandson, John Swartz Degenhardt [sic], both of Duncansville; one brother, 
Godfrey Steurer of Bellville, O., and a number of nieces and nephews.
  Mrs. Swartz was an active member of the Duncansville Lutheran church.  Friends 
will be received at the home after 7 o'clock this evening.
