Swartz, 1459 North avenue, died at 12:10 o'clock yesterday afternoon at the home. He was born Dec. 17, 1866 in Clay Township, Huntingdon County, the son of Daniel and Charlotte Madden Swartz. In Aug. 1890 at Dublin Mills, he married Alfaretta Anderson, who is deceased. Surviving are these children: Mrs. Edith James and Earl Swartz, Tyrone; Mrs. Myrtle Starr, East McKeesport; Walter Swartz, Cleveland, Ohio; 18 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; also a sister, Mrs. Mae Abbott, Broad Top City; and a brother, Jack Swartz, Pittsburgh. He was a member of the Cherry Grove Church of God, and a retired farmer. Funeral service will be held Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock in the Cherry Grove Church, in charge of the Rev. William Emert. Burial will be in the Cherry Grove cemetery. Friends will be received at the Graham and Getz funeral home after seven o'clock this evening.
