He was a retired Altoona yard conductor, retiring Feb. 16, 1940, after 53 years of service with the Pennsylvania railroad. Mr. Taney hill was born in Orbisonia Sept. 2, 1871. His wife, Ada E. Taneyhill, died Dec. 31, 1937. Surviving are two daughters and three sons, Mrs. Edna McDowell of Juniata, Mrs. Grace Hamilton of Bristol, Tenn., Paul C. of New York and Carl and Clyde, at home; 14 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was the last of his immediate family. Mr. Taneyhill was a member of the First Methodist church, Juniata, and the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen lodge 174. Friends will be received at the Mauk & Yates funeral home after 6 o'clock tomorrow evening. Altoona Mirror, July 24, 1951
