Tappendorf, formerly of Altoona and for the past year residing with her mother and step-father, Mr. and Mrs. Harry C. Hagie, 1407 Cameron ave., died Friday at 3:15 p.m. at Tyrone Hospital after a lengthy illness. She was born Aug. 24, 1922 at Tyrone. She was married on Jan. 8, 1946 at the First English Lutheran Church, Tyrone, to John F. Tappendorf. He died Dec. 10, 1968. Surviving are the mother and step-father, a sister, Mrs. David (Donna) Nowlin, Warriors Mark; her grandfather, Edward Wrye, Warriors Mark, and two nieces and a nephew. She was a member of St. James Lutheran Church, Altoona, and was employed by D & M Drycleaning, Altoona, retiring in 1967 on disability. Funeral service will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Johnson Funeral Home, Tyrone, in charge of the Rev. Bruce Nissen, followed by burial In Blair Memorial Park.
