Taylor Found Dead in Bed by His Brother Dr. Joseph M. Taylor, of 1416 1/2 Seventh avenue, was found dead in his office at 11 o'clock yesterday morning by his brother, Dr. Amos O. Taylor, of Twelfth avenue. The body of the physician was found on a couch in the private office, where he evidently had fallen asleep during the night, as the gas was still burning in the adjoining room. He had been ill and was suffering from a severe cold but had seemed no worse than usual when his brother visited him at 4 o'clock Wednesday afternoon. Dr. Taylor, the brother of the deceased man, who was accompanied in his visit to the office by his son-in-law, A. H. Hafner, pronounced death due to heart trouble, from which his brother had suffered for some time. Death had occurred several hours before the body was found. Deputy Coroner C. C. Rothrock was notified and made an investigation, but decided that an inquest was not necessary. Joseph Moorehead Taylor was born in Westmoreland county, the son of Dr. James and Susan Taylor, both deceased. He was aged 41 years and was a graduate of the Physicians' and Surgeons' college, Baltimore. He had practiced here for the past six years. In addition to the Altoona brother he is survived by two other brothers, Dr. J. S. Taylor, of Johnstown, and Attorney Jeffery Taylor, of Greensburg. The body was turned over to Funeral Director N. A. Stevens and the funeral services will be held at the Stevens' funeral chapel at 10:15 o'clock this morning, after which the body will be taken at 11:12 to Johnstown for burial. Special services were held over the body last evening by the Mystic Order of Sphinx, of which Dr. Taylor was a member. The organization will also furnish pall bearers to accompany the remains to Johnstown. Altoona Tribune, Altoona, Pa., Friday Morning, January 19, 1917 Physician's Funeral Held.
