Taylor, 73, of Box 239A, Tyrone RD5, went to be with the his Lord, Tuesday, February 3, 2004. He was born Sept. 13, 1930, in Tipton, a son of the late Lloyd F. and Isabel (Hooper) Taylor. He was twice married, first to Lois M. Conrad on September 5, 1950 in Winchester, VA. She died Jan. 19, 1977. Then to Florine Tilson Weakland on Aug. 27, 1977 in Tipton. Mr. Taylor is survived by his wife; two sons: Steven Taylor and wife Doris of Newark, DE, Douglas Taylor and wife Dorinda of Pittsburgh; two daughters: Lu Ann Shoop and husband Ritchie of Tipton, Becky Thon and husband Thomas of Thurmont, MD; step son: Thomas Weakland and wife Shannon of Delaware, Ohio; step daughter: Kathy Myers and husband, George of Huntingdon; twenty-one grandchildren and eight great- grandchildren; three brothers: Merriel and LaVern, both of Tipton, and Paul of Belaire, MD; many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by sisters: Mae Nielson and Dorothy Taylor and brothers: Raymond and Dean. Mr. Taylor retired as a maintenance technician at PPG Industries, Tipton in 1990 with 26 years service. He served in the Naval Reserves from 1948 until 1952, and was an Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict. Mr. Taylor attended the Tipton Baptist Church. He loved his children, grandchildren and family. Mr. Taylor was an avid lover of wildlife. Friends will be received from 7-9 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 5 at the Jon C. Russin Funeral Home, Bellwood and from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. time of funeral service, Friday, Feb. 6, 2004 at the Tipton Baptist Church with Pastor David Ervine officiating. Interment at Blair Memorial Park, Antis Township. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in Roy's memory may be made to Tipton Baptist Church, P.O. Box 303, Tipton, PA 16684.
