All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/blair/ _________________________________________ ARTHUR THOMAS DIES EARLY SUNDAY AFTERNOON Arthur Thomas, Villa Maria Tyrone, died at 12:05 p.m., Sunday at the State hospital, Hollidaysburg, following a short illness. He was born July 2, 1873, in Worchester county, England, the son of Charles and Sarah Ann Haines Thomas. In 1902, he married Selina Wilson. Mr. Thomas had been a resident of Tyrone since 1910. Surviving are three sons: William, Walter and James Thomas, all of Tyrone. He was a member of the Trinity Episcopal church, and of the Tyrone Lodge of Odd Fellows No. 152. Mr. Thomas served as caretaker at the Y.M.C.A. for over 30 years prior to retirement. Also as maintenance superintendent at the Athletic Park. Funeral service will be held Wednesday at 2 o'clock at the Glass Funeral home, in charge of the Rev. Ralph T. Wolfgang, Hollidaysburg. Burial will be in Eastlawn cemetery. Friends will be received at the funeral home this afternoon 2 to 4 p.m. and this evening 7 to 9 o'clock. Tyrone Daily Herald, Tyrone, Pa., September 7, 1954
