Thomas Barbara Irene Thomas, 61, of RR1 - Box 441A, East Freedom and formerly of Tyrone, died Sunday, Jan. 13, 2008 at her residence. She was born Oct. 23, 1946 in Altoona the daughter of Dorothy L. Mountz and the late Jay Edward Thomas. She was married Dec. 18, 1965 to Charles G. Lykens. She is survived by her mother of Tyrone; her former husband of Altoona; her children: Mark Lykens and his wife Cathlene, Altoona; Jaylene R. Smith and her husband Steven of Lemont; Michael Lykens and friend Amanda Burget of Altoona. Four grandchildren, John Lykens and Margaret Lykens of Altoona and Sophia Smith and Jonah Smith of Lemont; a brother Larry J. Thomas and his wife Karen of Cranberry Twp. and her beloved and faithful companion, Benjamin, her pet Yorkie. Two uncles, Warren E. Thomas of Tyrone and James Mountz of Arizona. She was of the Christian faith and a graduate of Tyrone Area High School in 1964. She attended Columbia Bible College in South Carolina. She was formerly employed at Bell Telephone Co. and retired as a Real Estate Agent from Coldwell Banker. For many years she was the Secretary for the Highland Lake Bible Conference. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Jan. 17, 2008 at noon at the Derman Funeral Home, Inc., Tyrone, with Interment at Baughman Cemetery.
