Mrs. D. Ruth Thomas 
 
  Mrs. D. Ruth Thomas, wife of Mierley D. Thomas, 510 22nd ave., 
Altoona, died at her home Sunday at 4:30 a.m. following an extended 
illness.
  She was born in Tyrone Oct. 26, 1901, the daughter of Arnold R. and 
the late Anna Flenner Rhodes.
  She is survived by the husband, her father, one daughter. Mrs. Lilli 
Ann Lingenfelter, four grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Lillian J.
Chessman, all of Altoona.
  She was a member of the First Methodist church of Altoona.  Friends 
are being received at the Gilden-Barton funeral home, Altoona, where 
funeral service will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in charge of the Rev. 
Willis W. Willard, Jr., following by burial in Grandview cemetery, 
Altoona.
