Thompson Fatally Injured at Kittanning Point - Dies at the Hospital. Andrew G. Thompson, a track hand, employed by the Pennsylvania railroad company, was run down by an empty engine at Kittanning Point yesterday afternoon, shortly before 5 o'clock, and as a result of his injuries died at the Altoona hospital almost two hours afterward. Thompson was at work on the railroad at Kittanning Point and while in a stooping position failed to notice the engine that was returning from helping a train up the mountain. The engine struck him on the head and he was hurled across the tracks. The engine was stopped and the injured man was brought to this city and admitted to the hospital, where it was found that he had sustained a fracture of the skull. Andrew G. Thompson was born at Lebanon, Pa., and was aged 19 years. He had been employed by the company for some time and was regarded as a steady and industrious young man and was held in high esteem by all who knew him. He was a member of Wopsononock tribe of Red Men of this city. He is survived by his parents and several brothers and sisters. The funeral arrangements will be announced later. Thompson, the young track hand who was fatally injured at McGarvey's station Tuesday afternoon, will take place from the home of his parents, Kittanning Point, at 2.30 o'clock Friday afternoon.
