Regular Correspondent. On Thursday morning all that was mortal of the late Daniel Thompson was removed from his late home on North Bedford street to St. Patrick's church, were requiem high mass was celebrated, after which the body was laid to rest in St. Patrick's cemetery, in the presence of a large gathering of friends and neighbors, who had come from far and near to pay the last sad tribute of respect to their departed friend and neighbor. Daniel Thompson was born on the old Thompson homestead, on Poplar run, on the 9th day of September, 1856. With the exception of a few years spent in Huntingdon county, he was a resident here all his life. Some five years ago he was stricken with a malady for which medicine science failed to produce a diagnosis. He sufferings at times were intense. The rugged health which marked his early and mature years had deserted him, yet with all he discharged all his personal and social obligations with a bright and cheerful spirit. He was a life- long member of St. Patrick's church, believing in its tenets and its teachings, from which he formed high ideals, and all his actions were loyal to them. As husband, father, friend and neighbor, he wore the white feather of a blameless life, and to that inner circle of his home, of which he was the light and the center, he left a priceless legacy of a life of love and tenderness.
