THOMPSON Of 119 Willow avenue, died at 12.04 o'clock yesterday noon in the Mercy hospital, following a lingering illness. He was a former machinist in the Second street machine shop, and retired in 1949 after 30 years of service. He was born Jan. 23, 1886, in Juniata gap, a son of Theodore and Floretta (Burkhart) Thompson. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. May (Jones) Thompson, whom he married in August, 1912, a daughter, Mrs. James L. Rothrock of Altoona; two grandchildren, Wayne and Joyce Rothrock and two brothers, Asbury and C. R. Thompson, both of Juniata gap. He was a Methodist by faith. Friends will be received at the Mauk & Yates funeral home after 6 o'clock this evening. Altoona Mirror, October 11, 1951
