EDWARD THOMPSON, A former resident of Blair county and brother of Mr. W. F. Thompson of this place, died at his home in Harrisburg yesterday morning of pneumonia. The deceased was born in Hollidaysburg and was aged 71 years. He was for many years engaged in the carpenter business. Mr. Thompson was a civil war veteran, having served in the 34th regiment, under Colonel Wm. G. Murray. For the past several years he has resided in Harrisburg, where he held a position in the arsenal during Gov. Patterson's administration. He has been an invalid for three years and during that time has lived a retired life. Besides his wife he is survived by three children, Messrs. John and Thomas and Miss Lucy, all of Harrisburg. He is also survived by one brother, Mr. Finn Thompson of this place. The remains will probably be brought to the county capital for internment.
