Thompson, a widely known and esteemed resident of Altoona, died at 8.30 o'clock Saturday evening at the home of her sister, Mrs. Robert T. Caldwell, of 421 Second avenue. Death was due to cerebral embolism. She had been ill but two weeks. Miss Thompson was the daughter of John B. and Sarah Mattern Thompson, both deceased, and was born at Spruce Creek Valley, Huntingdon county, on December 7, 1840. She resided in that vicinity for many years and later came to Blair county and for the past several years she had made her home with her sister at the above address. She was a member of the Presbyterian church since childhood and was a member of the Second Presbyterian church of Altoona. Miss Thompson was charitably inclined, a woman of thorough Christian character and possessed scores of friends who will learn with regret of her demise. One sister, Mrs. Robert T. Caldwell, and two brothers; D. M. Thompson, of Tyrone, and J. H. Thompson, of Philadelphia, survive. Funeral services were held at 421 Second avenue, Monday at 7.30 o'clock by the Rev. H. H.
