In 1831, while yet a young man, he left this county, and stopping a short time at Lecchburg [sic], Armstrong county, but soon after located at Hollidaysburg, Blair county. Here he remained till April, 1861, when he returned to this county and took up his residence in this place, where he had ever since resided. Ever since 1832 he was a consistent member of the M.E. Church, and since 1849 had been a member of the Masonic fraternity. He leaves three sons and one daughter, citizens of Blair county, this State, and three brothers and one sister, citizens of this county. His funeral services took place at the M.E. Church on Wednesday, and were largely attended. Revs. Bignell and Beck conducted the exercises. He was buried in our cemetery with Masonic honors.
