Thompson, one of Freedom townships most prominent and industrious farmers and for the past few years a resident of Newry, living a retired life, died at 10 o'clock Wednesday night of a complication of diseases from which he had suffered for the past ten weeks. He was a son of Peter and Elizabeth Thompson both deceased, and had been raised on a farm near Newry, later farming along Poplar run, near Puzzletown. He had been very prosperous and when he retired he left his farm to his son, Charles A. Thompson. Besides his wife he is survived by the following children: Peter Thompson, of Hollidaysburg; Charles Thompson, of Poplar run; Mrs. Daniel Moses, of Newry, and Mrs. F. D. Eger, of Juniata township. He had been a life-long member of St. Patrick's Catholic church of Newry and had always taken an active part in the work of the church. He was the last direct member of his family. The funeral will be held Saturday morning at 10 o'clock with mass at St. Patrick's church. Interment at St. Patrick's cemetery. (Huntingdon and Cambria county papers please copy.)
