Thompson, 82, of Box 175 Wertz Drive, Hollidaysburg RR2, died unexpectedly Saturday morning, June 22, 2002, at Altoona Hospital, where she had been admitted earlier in the morning. She was born May 27, 1920, in Duncansville, a daughter of the late Edward Blair "Butch" and Elva M. (Dodson) Long. She married William Brady Thompson Dec. 11, 1943, in Altoona. Mrs. Thompson was a member of First United Methodist Church, Hollidaysburg. She was a 1939 graduate of Hollidaysburg Senior High School. Mrs. Thompson was a member of the Hollidaysburg Chapter 471, Order of Eastern Star. Surviving are her husband; a brother, Joe W. and his wife, Aldine, of Duncansville; three nieces: Janice Ruggles, Gala Koval and Mary Fornwalt; and two nephews: Terry and Kevin. She was preceded in death by a brother, Cyril D. "Bud" Long; and two nephews. At the request of the deceased, there will be no public viewing. Private funeral services at the convenience of the family by the Rev. Dr. D. L. Brinton Shafer. Interment at Presbyterian Cemetery. Arrangements are by the Sorge Funeral Home, Hollidaysburg.
