Thompson, 84, 502 Lindsay St., Hollidaysburg, died early Thursday morning, June 27, 1996, at Altoona Hospital, following an extended illness. She was born April 22, 1912, in Altoona, the daughter of Charles and Nan Brantlinger. She married Harry C. Thompson Oct. 24, 1931, in Cumberland, Md. He died Aug. 1, 1995. Mrs. Thompson was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Hollidaysburg. she had been employed as a bookkeeper at Al [sic] Slim Carberry Auto Service, Hollidaysburg, and also worked at the Hollidaysburg Free Public Library. Mrs. Thompson was a graduate of Altoona High School. She enjoyed reading, her grandchildren and her family. Surviving are a daughter, Ann Sutcliffe of Newark, Del.; two sons: William F. of Hollidaysburg and Robert of Lancaster; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Plank, Stitt & Stevens Funeral Home, Hollidaysburg. THOMPSON - Services for Margaret E. Thompson of 502 Lindsay St., Hollidaysburg, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Plank, Stitt & Stevens Funeral Home, Hollidaysburg, by Father John J. Palko. Interment at Presbyterian Cemetery, Hollidaysburg. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Plank, Stitt & Stevens Funeral Home, 421 Montgomery St., Hollidaysburg, where a wake service will be held Sunday. The family requests that donations be made to the Hollidaysburg Free Public Library, Clark and Allegheny streets, Hollidaysburg, in memory of Peg. Altoona Mirror, Altoona, Pa., Friday, June 28, 1996 Contributor's note: Margaret Ellen (Brantlinger) Thompson was the daughter of Victor William Brantlinger b. 3 Mar 1887 d. 8 Nov 1942 and Sarah Agnes Yeager b. 1887 d. 17 Oct 1937. She was raised by Victor's brother Charles Edwin Brantlinger and wife Nanna Maria "Nan" (Calvin) Brantlinger. Margaret was named for her grandmother Margaret Ellen Reilly b. 1855 who married Michael Aristede Yeager b. 26 Jan 1852 d. 19 Jul 1938. Michael was a tinsmith with the Pennsylvania Railroad. Michael was a son to Stephen Yeager and Christine Hauser.
