Finley Thompson Our Hollidaysburg correspondent writes: On Wednesday evening, January 4, Mrs. Mary Ann Thompson, wife of Mr. W. F. Thompson, died at her home in Philadelphia, aged 47 years. The deceased up to the close of the year was in the enjoyment of her usual good health, when she was prostrated with a severe attach of the rheumatic fever, which in a few days resulted in her death. Besides her sorrowing husband she leaves six children -three boys and three girls - to mourn the loss of a kind and loving mother. She also leaves an aged mother, Mrs. Mary Brady, aged 82 years, and three sisters, Mrs. Hugh Smith, of Gaysport; Mrs. William Burtnett, of Hollidaysburg, and Mrs. Jane Foust, widow of Mr. Ross Foust, late of Huntingdon. The deceased was born and raised in Hollidaysburg, being a daughter of Terrence Brady. Her death will not only be mourned by her near relatives, but by all her neighbors and many friends. The funeral will take place at 2 o'clock on Saturday afternoon. Interment in the Lutheran cemetery. The friends of the family invited. Times, Altoona, Pa., January 6, 1888 Contributor's note: Mary Ann's husband, W. F. Thompson, was William Finley Thompson b. 1835.
