Caldwell, in Altoona, aged 79 years, 2 months and 10 days. She was born on the old Mattern homestead near Franklinville, Huntingdon county, and in 1839 she was united in marriage to Hon. John B. Thompson, now deceased. To this union four children were born, all of whom survive, viz: Jennie E., at the home of her sister in Altoona; D. M., of Duncansville; J. H., of Indianapolis, Ind.; and Mrs. Robert T. Caldwell, of Altoona. The brothers and sisters who survive are Mrs. Alexander Bobb, of Martinsburg; Mrs. Elizabeth Shoup, of Findley, O.; Andrew Mattern, of Huntington, Ind.; William, of Franklin, Pa.; J. C., of Hollidaysburg, and George W., who resides with his son on the homestead farm, and is the father of A. J. Mattern and Mrs. W. H. Flenner, of Tyrone. The remains wm will be taken to Spruce Creek tomorrow morning for internment. Tyrone Daily Herald, Tyrone, Pa., March 13, 1899
