Tipton, died at the family home one mile southwest of Martinsburg this morning at 1.10 o'clock, death being attributed to a complication of ailments following an illness of eleven weeks. She was born near Martinsburg on Jan. 19, 1868, a daughter of Solomon and Mary Layman, and was united in marriage with William S. Tipton on Aug. 23, 1888, at the home of her parents. Surviving are the husband, one daughter, Beatrice E. Young, at home; one son, H. L. Tipton of Martinsburg; two brothers, Roy R. Layman of Martinsburg and Homer B. Layman of Pittsburgh, and one sister, Mrs. Minnie Allen of Altoona. She was a lifelong member of St. Matthew's Lutheran church in Martinsburg. Funeral services will be conducted at 2.30 o'clock in charge of her pastor, Rev. D. L. Shaffer. Interment will be made in the Fairview cemetery. Altoona Mirror, Altoona, Pa., Wednesday, May 11, 1932
