(Arthur) Tipton, widow of L. C. Tipton, and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Josiah Arthur, died at 1 o'clock yesterday morning at Columbia hospital, Wilkinsburg, after undergoing an operation last Thursday. She had been in ill health for eight years and hoped to obtain relief through the operation. She entered the hospital last Wednesday and the operation ensued the following day. Owing to her weakened condition and a complication of diseases, she could not withstand the effect. She lived all her life in this city and was wedded to Luis C. Tipton, November 27, 1873, by Rev. Henry Baker. She resided at 1128 Thirteenth avenue until her husband's death on May 9, 1916, after which she made her home with a sister, Mrs. G. O. Matthews, Wilkinsburg, who survives. Mrs. Tipton was a lifelong member of the First Lutheran church of this city and was active in its work until her health failed. The body will be brought to the city tomorrow at 10:58 o'clock and will be taken direct to the First Lutheran church, where funeral services will be held at 1:30 o'clock tomorrow afternoon. Private interment will be made at Fairview cemetery. Friends are invited to the church service. Altoona Tribune, Altoona, Pa., Wednesday morning, March 7, 1917 MRS. ANNA R. TIPTON, Widow of Lewis C.
