Richard Titelman, 79, of Atlanta, formerly of Altoona, died Thursday. May 24, 2001, after an extended illness. He was born November 6, 1921, in Philadelphia. Surviving are his wife, Joan R. Titelman; four children: Jack, his wife Donna, Andrew, David, his wife Lisa, and Ann, her husband, Alec McLarty; five grandchildren; and a brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. James Titelman. Mr. Titelman attended Swarthmore College, where he received a B.S. degree in economics and Wharton School of Business of the University of Pennsylvania, where he received an M.B.A. During World War II, he served as a lieutenant in the Navy. He and his wife were married in 1945. Mr. Titelman was President of Puritan Sportswear Corp., Altoona, and also Director and Vice President of Warnaco, Inc. in Connecticut. He lectured on business at Penn State University and the University of Pennsylvania and also at the President's Association of the American Management Association of which he was a member. He was Founder and President of the Blair County Arts Foundation. A private memorial service is planned. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 919 N.
