He was admitted to the hospital at 6 o’clock Sunday evening. The injury was not at first thought to be of a serious character. While he was plowing the implement struck some obstruction causing the horses to stop suddenly and Mr. Tremmel was thrown against the plow handle, being hit in the abdomen. Obstruction of the intestines followed and when the injury did not respond to treatment he was taken to Altoona and taken to the hospital for an operation. But he grew worse very rapidly and died at 10:40. Coroner W. T. Blackburn was notified of his death and will conduct an investigation today. Mr. Tremmel was born in Austria, May 5, 1849, and came to this country forty- five years ago, locating in the Sinking Valley, where he engaged in farming, being a frugal, industrious man and successful in his undertakings. He was a member of St. Mary’s German Catholic church in Altoona. He is survived by his wife, five sons and two daughters, as follows: John, Joseph and Miss Catherine at home; Frank, Peter, Edward and Mrs. Mary Zeak, of Altoona.
