Trimble (Ret. MGST), 74, passed away March 29, 2004 at Tucson Medical Center in Tucson, Arizona Bill was born on May 4, 1929 in Tyrone, Pennsylvania to William C. and Janet Trimble. He served 12 years in the U.S. Army and eight years in the U.S. Air Force. He received the Purple Heart, Bronze Star, Air Force Commendation Medal, World War II Victory Medal, Korean Service Medal, Korean Presidential Citation and other awards. Bill received a Special Certificate of Valor from the Secretary of the Army for being a member of the first group of 406 American soldiers to fight in Korea, where he was wounded. While in the Air Force, Bill was an aircraft mechanic on the C130's as crew chief, retiring in 1966. During his military career he served in Italy, Germany, Japan, Panama, Okinawa and Korea. Bill married Nancy A. Moore in Winchester, Virginia on August 18, 1975. They moved to Arizona in 1980, where he worked as a school maintenance foreman while living in Peoria, retiring in 1995. Bill was a member of the Tyrone American Legion and a Lifetime Member of the Air Force Sergeants Association. He was a humble and caring man who had kind, gentle words for everyone. He is now safe in the arms of Jesus. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, and his nephew, Harry K. Sickler III. Bill is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Nancy A. Trimble of Sierra Vista, AZ; children: Patti (Skip) Rollins of Tennessee and William M. Trimble of Florida; sister, Dolores (Harry K.) Sickler of Tyrone, PA; grandchildren: Shannon, Jamie, Jessica and Mike; several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law and many nieces and nephews to whom he was "Uncle Bill." Services will be held April 2, 2004 at the Southern AZ Veteran's Memorial Cemetery in Sierra Vista, AZ. Tyrone Daily Herald, March 30, 2004
