Trostle, 82, of 3616 W. Chestnut Ave., died at 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 1, 1980, in Altoona Hospital. Mr. Trostle retired as a painter from the Pennsylvania Railroad in 1962, after 47 years' service. He was born July 26, 1897, in Altoona, the son of William J. and Mary (Martin) Trostle, and Feb. 20, 1917, in Altoona, married Violet C. Orr. Surviving are his wife, five children, William J., Bernard L., Mrs. Shirley Cassarly, Mrs. Joanne Skipper and Mrs. Betty Frederick of Altoona; a foster daughter, Katherine Wenrich of Altoona, 26 grandchildren, 36 great- grandchildren, six great-great- grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Agnes Farabaugh of Altoona. Mr. Trostle was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 10 p.m. today in the I. Melvin Books Funeral Home. TROSTLE - The Funeral of Bernard H. Trostle of 3616 W. Chestnut Ave. will be held with a mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. Thursday in Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Interment in Calvary Cemetery. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 10 p.m. Wednesday in the I. Melvin Books Funeral Home, where a wake service will be held at 7 p.m. today.
